Signals of Support Make a Difference for Parents on Campus

Amber Angel, Program Coordinator at the FRC, was invited to speak at the Aspen Forum on Children and Families, a bipartisan convening meant to spark, inspire, and share ideas and policy recommendations aimed at better supporting children and their families.

Amber spoke about the challenges she faced as a first-generation "older" student, brand new "young" mother, and part-time employee and how juggling all of this impacted her ability to be successful in school. With supports in place at LAVC, it made all the difference in her success.

Check out her blog posting here and engage in the conversation, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
